Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These terms and conditions apply to all quotations, commissions and work carried out by Evans Carpentry & Joinery ("we", "us", "our") for our clients ("you", "your"). By accepting a quotation or commissioning work from us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

We design, build and fit bespoke kitchens, custom joinery, fitted cupboards and storage, and media walls and architectural features for homes across Salisbury and the surrounding area.

2. Quotations

All quotations are provided in good faith based on the information available at the time and are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Quotations are itemised and, unless stated otherwise, exclude VAT.

A quotation is not a binding contract. Work commences only once you have accepted the quotation in writing and paid any agreed deposit.

3. Deposits & Payment

We typically require a deposit to secure your booking, cover materials and schedule the work. The deposit amount is stated on your quotation and is non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work commenced.

Unless agreed otherwise, stage payments may apply for larger projects. The final balance is due within 14 days of completion. We accept payment by bank transfer and other methods agreed in writing.

4. Changes to the Scope of Work

Any variation or addition to the agreed scope of work will be quoted separately and must be agreed in writing before it is carried out. We will always seek your approval before proceeding with any change that affects the cost or timescale of the project.

5. Site Conditions & Access

You are responsible for providing safe, clear and reasonably accessible site conditions, including power, water and parking where required. We are not liable for delays or additional costs arising from site conditions that differ from those described to us at quotation stage.

6. Timescales

Indicative timescales are given in good faith but are not guaranteed. Lead times and fitting dates may be affected by material availability, weather, site access and other factors outside our control. We will keep you informed of any material changes.

7. Warranties & Defects

We warrant our workmanship against defects for a period of 12 months from the date of completion. This does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, or defects arising from materials or designs supplied by you or a third party.

Any defect reported to us within the warranty period will be assessed and, where it is due to our workmanship, put right at no additional cost.

8. Cancellation

You may cancel your commission in writing at any time. If you cancel after work has commenced or materials have been ordered, you will be liable for the costs reasonably incurred up to the point of cancellation, including non-refundable materials and the deposit.

9. Liability

Our liability for any single claim is limited to the contract value of the work to which the claim relates. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

For any questions about these terms, please contact Evans Carpentry & Joinery on 07957 678049.
